How to Write a Conclusion That Doesn't Repeat the Intro
Conclusion writing that adds value instead of restating the obvious.
Weak conclusions paraphrase the intro. Strong ones do one new thing: zoom out, propose a future angle, or acknowledge a limit.
Reaffirm the thesis in fresh wording. If you can't reword it, the thesis was too narrow.
Synthesise rather than summarise. Pull the threads into a single insight that only makes sense after the body.
End on a forward-facing sentence - a question, a stake, a 'what's next'.
Avoid 'In conclusion'. It signals lazy structure to a tired marker.
Length: 8–12% of total word count.
Read your conclusion aloud. If it sounds like a robot, rewrite it.
